Hello, my adoptee brethren. To be clear, by “brethren” I mean any adoptee of any age from anywhere regardless of gender, when they were adopted, who they were adopted by, or when they found out they were adopted.
I just wanted to remind you all that I’m here for you if you need. Whether you just need to vent, want to chat, or would like to finally have the ear of a fellow adoptee, someone who won’t ridicule you for what you’re feeling, I’m here.
I will never turn an adoptee away as long as they are respectful. You are not alone! I’m here. Don’t hesitate if you need me.To both adoptees and nonadoptees: Please share this. You just don’t know who might be out there begging for someone to give a damn. Share this so they might know that someone does!
I know this is a useless shout into the void but here goes:
I’m adopted and I’m trying to find my younger birth brother who was also adopted by a different family (complicated I know) but if you can help PLEASE let me know
Here are the things I know for sure:
- My name is Haleigh, I was born on August 28th 1993 in New Braunfels, Texas.
- My birthparents are named Gordon and Dixie
- I have three older birthsiblings: Brandi, Brennan, and Gordon III. They were not given up. I’m not sure why my younger brother and I were.
- They live in Seguin, TX (or they used to)
- My younger birth brother was born either a year or three years after me (my adopted family can’t remember. They were going to adopt him, but didn’t have enough money ?? I think. They don’t like to talk about it.)
- The family who adopted him live in Dallas? Maybe Austin. (again my parents couldn’t remember)
- My adoption was through a lutheran service? So his might have been too.
- We’ve never met, but I’d like to (but only if he wants to)
If any of this sounds familiar to anyone please message me. I know it’s super vague like I don’t know his name or birthdate, but I would really appreciate anything.
p.s. please don’t dismiss your efforts as useless. It takes tremendous courage to begin the search, and the good news is that connecting with birth family is nowhere NEAR as improbable as it once was. Even on this platform I see breakthroughs happening every day for adoptees.
I had a lot less information than this to start with, and still had some of my birth family members found via the internet! The future is now. Good luck and glory be to you. X
A comparison of two tumblr blogs: creepshots and okcgoldmine.
—okcgoldmine: re-posts photos of men; photos were taken with men’s permission and posted personally by the men on a public web page
—creepshots: posts photos of women taken without the women’s knowledge or consent.
—okcgoldmine: has no ads
—creepshots: has ads
—okcgoldmine: uses tags that come directly from the words written by the men and posted by them at okcupid. Examples: jack of all trades, devil’s advocate, men’s rights, everything but rap.
—creepshots: typical tags are: upskirt, phat, booty, hungryass, boobs.
—okcgoldmine: sometimes adds humorous text, such as “Boy you must be the sun because you need to stay 93 million miles away from me.” But most posts have text written by the men themselves and posted by them on a public web page. (x)
—creepshots: adds text such as "I caught these two mamacitas suntanning with their asses out while enjoying a Carribean cruise in Dec. 2009. They were totally asleep and unaware of my camera work. They may possibly be the hottest daughter-mother pair I’ve ever seen in one shot." I would have to agree. I don’t think I can easily choose who has the better ass. Very nice creep work.—creepshots editor (x)
—okcgoldmine: taken down by tumblr in May, 2013
—creepshots: just fine with tumblr. jfc it’s all in fun u need to get a sense of humor.
reblogging because 7 months later creepshots on tumblr is still up and okcgoldmine is still down. summary:
poking fun at men: TUMBLR TAKES DOWN YOUR BLOG
posting photos of women without their consent and calling them sluts: THAT’S OK WITH TUMBLR

And for anyone who hasn’t heard about “Operation Lollipop”:
Using stock photos and the stolen information of real activists, users of sites such as 4chan started hashtags including #EndFathersDay and #WhitesCantBeRaped.
Most of these trolls have posed as women of colour, whom they call “black bitches”. Other users have falsified racist tweets from prominent feminists and leftists, and created sock-puppet accounts to make sure the fake tweets are seen and condemned. [x]
